Read Before Posting - Engineer

Please read this if you are applying to become an Engineer on the Open Redstone Engineers network.

As an Engineer on the Open Redstone Engineers network, you will be expected to play an educational role in the advancement of Redstone computational engineering. You will also be expected to represent a trusted community member and maintain proper server conduct. Engineer has a few features on top of the existing features granted to Builder.

These features include:

  • Everything given to Builder AND:
  • An “Engineer” rank.
  • The ability to officially assist in Builder trials.
  • The ability to help run an Engineer interview.
  • The ability to stream video in Discord.
  • A 2x2 plot area in Build
  • A personalized TP command
  • Access to an MCHPRS world separate from the main network

As part of your application you will be expected to provide a sample of your work. Please provide screenshots of your work by attaching the image to the post, or by using imgur.com to host the images. If you are convinced that we will not be able to determine the functionality of your device from screenshots, please feel free to post a video that you’ve made, hosted by youtube.com.

Feel free to use something that you’ve built in the past.

When posting your application, please use the following format:

Minecraft name:

What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates sufficient engineering knowledge?:

What engineering work went into designing this thing?:

Image(s) and/or video(s) of the device:

Remember, links to pictures and/or videos MUST BE PROVIDED in the application or it cannot be accepted.

After your application has been approved, you will need to demonstrate your work on our server during what is called an “Interview.” It is a relatively short, approximately ten minute, discussion between you, an Engineer, and a Staff member. Since there is no building involved, you need not prepare anything to design during the interview. However, you are expected to explain your submission thoroughly and answer questions regarding your creation.

You only get ONE interview per day. If you fail, you can come back anytime the following day or later to retrial.

The Staff member and the Engineer present during the interview determines whether or not you will become an Engineer.

You MUST already be a Builder in order to be promoted to Engineer. No skipping from Student to Engineer.

One last thing:
DO NOT MAKE DUPLICATE POSTS OR POST ON OTHER PEOPLE’S APPLICATIONS!!!
