What do you like the most about redstone?: I only really care about computational redstone. I want to get a better understanding of the inner workings of computers, specifically CPUs and with redstone I can do just that. It’s very open, but at the same time limited in space and speed like real CPUs.
What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge and what does it do?:
- A CCA (or carry-skip adder) with 8 registers and a decoder; it calculates
- 8bit packet transmission using minecarts; transmits an 8 bit number using water bottles (=1) and some other item (=0)
Image(s) and/or video(s) of the device:
(imgur doesn’t let me upload for some reason)
CCA + 8 registers:
minecart 8bit transmission:
I have more screenshots, but I’m limited to 2 links on this post.
What do you plan on making for your build trial?: A CCA (or carry-skip adder) with a single register attached (kinda like an acc), which adds a specified constant over and over to the sum in the register.
Do you agree with the rules?: yes
