Your favorite thing about redstone:
I really love computational redstone, and farms. The reason for me to get into computational redstone is because I wanted a nice way to design and debug cpu architectures. I am just starting to learn some basics about embedded, learned some 6502, made some emulators. So don’t expect to much yet, I’m just here to learn.
I have been designing a 4 bit CPU for the past couple days, which I haven’t fully implemented in minecraft yet, but other players said I should just try to become a builder with what I have atm.
I don’t know whether to talk about the full CPU design, or just the part that I build. But I made the 4 bit ALU, with ADD, bitwise NOR, and bitwise XOR functions. My choice to only use these 3, is because of simplicity, you can do every other operation, with these 3, and my cpu if build for simplicity. Also I added a accumulator, to use for and store ALU operations. At last, (for now) a way to get and set the accumulator from the databus.
This is what I have build for now, I will add a picture of the rest of my design (which is still a work in progress, especially the control ROM). I hope to build the rest of the cpu on the server as well. Also I added a picture of what the ALU and A register look like rn.
I know, its nothing so far, but I know what it does REALLY well, and I designed everything myself, only getting a little inspiration by nibbler and MP-4 But as you can see, it doesn’t look like them at all eventually.
