Thiccaxe Builder Application

Minecraft name: thiccaxe

What do you like the most about redstone?: That it 1) allows you to do mostly anything imaginable and 2) does so while limiting you to fairly tight constraints (somewhat like LEGO, etc.)

What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: QR Code generator

What does the thing do?: It takes alphanumeric keyboard input and generates a v1 low error correction qr code, plan is to continue improving this on ore

What did you make as your trial build?:
I constructed a diagonal CCA, with an acc, xor, and xnor. the whole loop is 7 ticks, but it is not synced. I also have a 4-wide content-addressable memory ‘controller’

What is the warp for your trial build?: thiccaxe_diag_cca_v1

Provide your results after completing the ORE Binary Quiz:

Do you agree with the rules?: yes

Your trial build is an adder with memory? Could you elaborate on that a bit?

yeah, it is an otherwise unremarkable cca, with specific toggleable functions for doing xnor and xor, as well as an accumulator. My goal in this was to try to have the output inverted without wasting an extra tick so I could clear the accumulator easily. The acc can be cleared, or its output can be disabled.

I’m not sure I can accept that as a build. Generally we want something more like a conventional 4 bit ALU that can do addition, subtraction, and bitwise operations (or something at a similar level). If you want to change builds, feel free to reply with something else.

ok, I’ve made a diagonal RCA with add, sub, or, and xor, nor, nand & xnor, and set a new warp @thiccaxe_diag_rca_alu_v1

Sounds good, could you provide updated image(s)?

Well, nothing’s changed — I was under the impression that “Image(s) and/or video(s) of the device” refers to the “What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge” and not the trial build itself.

anyway

Whenever both you and a staff member are free, feel free to ask them for a trial. You are able to try again after failing and waiting 24 hours. It is always recommended to do a practice trial with another member before starting your real one.
