Word just got back that my ban had been extended to indefinite. I had logged on for a couple of hours to do some boating, not really bothering anyone.
Figure 1 - response from Wueffi, a member of the server’s Staff Team (September 28, 2026)
None of this had been warranted… and there’s evidence that it wasn’t accidental. This incident is all about the newer, harsher punishment, and has nothing to do with anything rule-breaking.
1. So, where did my 6 months of time go?
You can’t just ban someone for 6 months, and right when their ban expires, suddenly decide, “oh well, actually we wanted to ban you forever”. Anticipation had been building up all this time, and then you decide to waste all of it.
You could’ve at least extended the ban to indefinite when it had just happened. I wouldn’t have wasted 6 months of my life waiting for it to end! … and then, right when it does, you extend it. That’s not a legitimate kind of punishment that people often do, and neither is it documented in the server rules.
Extending someone’s ban is indeed a legitimate kind of punishment, but when it happens, it’s typically given when a small fraction of the time had already passed. Extending it after a punishment had already ended, especially this harsh, is not legitimate and is an unnecessary waste of time and anticipation.
I was given a six-month punishment, served the entire six months, and reasonably expected to return afterward. Instead, immediately when it expired, you imposed a much harsher punishment. If you wanted to do that, you should have done so while the original punishment was still active, not after I had spent six months waiting for it to end.
2. The 6-month-ban wasn’t “accidental”
The keyword in Figure 1 is “accidentally”.
There is a lot of evidence on this denying the claim that the 6-month ban wasn’t intentional. If it had truly been accidental, you would’ve noticed it early reading subsequent messages and extended the ban when it had just been given.
Evidence 1
Figure 2 - response from Wueffi on the incident “can we stop this” (March 29/30, 2026)
We only have to pay attention to the first paragraph in this particular response. We can see that the Staff Team confirms the ban was indeed 6 months long, and there’s no evidence that it was accidental or that it would be later extended to indefinite. Accidental or not, this would’ve been very well noticeable.
Evidence 2
Figure 3 - me, requesting additional clarity regarding the punishment details; keyword marked in yellow (April 10, 2026)
Figure 4 - response from the Staff Team to the above post
The following shows that the entire post was indeed read by Staff Members, and naturally they would’ve encountered the keyword “being a half-year ban”. However, in the context of the 6-month-ban being “an accident”, this would’ve very obviously been a surprise - which, again, there’s no evidence proving that the 6-month-ban was accidental, because in this image we can very clearly see that the 6-month-ban was up to expectation.
Evidence 3
Around a month and a half following the 6-month-ban, I had attempted to appeal it. Though it was denied, it reveals some very useful evidence denying the “accidental” claim.
See Figure 5 and 6 below. We just have to pay attention to how many “6 month” keywords are here.

Figure 5 and 6 - large quantity of highlighted “6 month” keywords in the botched appeal (May 17, 2026)
Multiple members of the team have read and responded to this appeal, and it’s no wonder that the keyword “6 month” in context of the ban duration would be encountered numerous times. In the context of it being accidental, that would’ve been a total surprise to multiple members. None even attempted to correct this if the team had truly believed the 6-month-ban wasn’t intentional.
Evidence 4
I had managed to capture the following screenshot during my presence on the server.

Figure 7 - Chat message (September 28, 2026)
Notice how it’s less of a surprise that I’m even on the server in the context of the punishment being expected to be indefinite, and more of just not expecting the ban had already expired? In the context of the punishment being indefinite, this would’ve been an entire surprise that I’m even on the server to begin with.
So…
This shows the 6 month ban was in fact intentional, and you had simply made a decision to extend it at the worst possible time. “Accidental” just doesn’t add up here.
If the six-month duration really was an accidental mistake, why did multiple opportunities arise for staff to notice and correct it, yet nobody did?
The six-month ban was repeatedly communicated, discussed, and acknowledged over several months. Therefore, the claim that the six-month duration was merely an accidental mistake is inconsistent with the documented interactions. Whatever the original reasoning was, the six-month duration appears to have been treated as intentional at the time.
3. Accidental 6-month-ban?
I’ll just add this. A 6-month-ban being accidental with an indefinite ban being intentional? Something doesn’t quite add up here. Response from the team already confirms that the ban definitely wasn’t accidental, but to further debunk this claim…
If you truly meant to ban me indefinitely, why would it be 6-month specifically? Why not 1 month? Or a week? Or a day? Or a year? Out of all things, why 6 month? A user error would not make 6 months specifically the duration that stands out from the others.
But also… user errors in the ban system typically produce indefinite bans - so if it had been accidental, it would’ve actually been the other way around. The server’s ban system mostly hasn’t changed in a while, so here’s evidence.
Figure 8 - User appealing an unnecessarily harsh ban given for spam joining; punishment turned out to be accidental (July 14, 2025)
The screenshot above represents an appeal a student has made last year. Due to their poor network connection, they had to relog constantly, leading to chat flood and a ban. The ban was meant to be 30 minutes long but was accidentally indefinite. This screenshot shows that a truly accidental ban would yield an indefinite duration - probably what was expected.
There’s the actual case where a ban was accidentally assigned the wrong duration. The resulting duration was indefinite. Therefore, if my six-month ban was supposedly an accidental version of an intended indefinite ban, that doesn’t resemble the demonstrated behavior of the system.
Appendix
None of the evidence provided in this incident demonstrates that the ban was accidental, that the extension was warranted, and if the ban was actually meant to be indefinite rather 6-months long.
