Your favorite thing about redstone: Tetris
A build you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge (This is your trial build): ALU
Explain what your build does in detail:I have built an 8-bit computational ALU core on my plot.
Key Features & Logic:
-
ALU Architecture: It is a non-MUX based ALU inspired by Mattbatwings. Instead of utilizing massive multiplexers for every operation, it manipulates a single core adder using control lines to perform all arithmetic and bitwise logic operations.
-
Flood Carry Purpose: The main reason for implementing a flood carry line is to correctly process bitwise AND and XOR operations. Without the flood carry mechanism to manipulate the internal carry signals, the adder would invert the output logic, turning the XOR operation into XNOR, and the AND operation into NAND.
-
Carry In (CIN) Purpose: The CIN line is crucial for executing subtraction correctly (Two’s Complement). If the CIN line wasn’t activated during subtraction, all output lamps would light up randomly, creating an incorrect and broken result.
-
Invert A / Invert B Purpose: These inversion lines allow the core adder to successfully execute bitwise logic operations, effectively driving all logic gates with the exception of the standard NOT gate (including NAND operations).
Note: English is not my native language, so I am using a translator. It might take me a little longer to respond to your technical questions here or in-game, but I will answer all of them.
You can check it on my plot!
