Yo guys, so I was thinking about how we could level up the ice boat racing section, and I realized we really need PaperBoatUtils on the server.
If you haven’t heard of it, it’s the same as OpenBoatUtils but for well, Paper. It lets you tweak boat physics, like turning off boat collisions so we stop bumping each other, making you able to step up whole blocks with ur boat or letting you boat on blocks other than ice. It would make racing much better and allow for more use of the boat server.
I actually talked to the staff about adding it, and they said they’re down, but only if two things happen:
- People actually want it: We need to show there’s enough hype for them to bother setting it up.
- We can get it updated: The plugin is currently on 1.21.4, but since the server is on 1.21.8, it needs to be updated/recompiled for our version so it doesn’t break anything, because apparently we can’t downgrade server.
So, I’m making this post for two reasons. If you think this would be sick for the racing scene, please drop a comment or upvote this so staff sees the interest.
And more importantly, if anyone here knows how to code Paper plugins and has some free time to fork the GitHub and bump it up to 1.21.8, please hit me up or reply below! It would be a massive help for the whole community.
