Disrespecting User Privacy

Ok so for last I am requesting my report to be deleted.

The thing is, I wanted to keep it private, but every time I asked staff to handle incidents via DMs, I was told to create an appropriate incident post to handle it. Therefore, I had no other choice but to create it that way. That was a major incident that involved multiple players, and there’s no way to just let it unfold via private DMs. That’s what capo said: “if you wanted it to be private you should’ve made it private”, well, I wish.

Up next, the report includes not just my username but other players too, who have historically declined having their username public. Posts like these show up on Google searches whenever anyone searches their usernames which could hurt both my and their reputation.

Next, one staff member said “earlier you wanted to delete posts because you don’t behave like that anymore, and yet you still do.” That’s not true. I requested to them because they were highly embarrassing and poorly written. For example, I literally tried to rate the server… in my appeal. You get it now.

And finally, backlash. The whole thing is a mess. People won’t know what they’re reading.

It is perfectly justified to delete the report.

Let’s just get it deleted and move on, alright? I won’t request to delete this one since it doesn’t justify deletion.

i have never “historically declined having their username public.” and am perfectly fine with my name being there if that post were to stay up.

I’m locking this to avoid any further replies from non-staff. Staff will discuss this report and let you know what comes of it once we’re done.

I don’t want to come off like we’re avoiding handling things, your situation is still actively being discussed, but it takes time for us to discuss with staff in a range of timezones and whatnot. Hopefully, we’ll reach a resolution that’ll work best for us and you.

After staff discussion and a vote, we have decided to introduce a new protocol. Members can request the deletion of their moderation posts after 180 days. Posts often involve replies from more than just the original poster, which would be involved in its deletion. Additionally, moderation posts are often relevant to situations not long after, so it’s useful to maintain a record where possible, but beyond 180 days is fair game for deletion requests.

Also, from what we were able to gather, it doesn’t seem any other individual mentioned in your previous post is concerned over their username being included, so I’m not sure this is as much of an issue for other members as you’ve presented it to be.
