Your favorite thing about redstone: How by the use of basic components and logic gates, you can use binary to give you complex outputs based of variable inputs.

A build you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge (This is your trial build): I made an 8-bit, single mode select, ripple ALU

Explain what your build does in detail: It takes 3 inputs, A, B and Function and performs 8 bit binary calculation. It has a panel to select the function and then based of the inputs uses logic to give an output.
