What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates sufficient engineering knowledge?:
I built the smallest computer in minecraft. Total size of 7x7x2. It is turning complete. Based on Wolfram’s “Statistical mechanics of cellular automata”.
It is as pipe lined as possible (two operations are occurring at once)

What engineering work went into designing this device?:
Understanding the math behind the device and being able to prove it’s Turing complete.
Building the cell and the display. syncing the display with the cell was biggest concern.
Most of space is taken up by the vsync logic.

  • Those applying for Engineer need to have Builder rank first (Currently you have Visitor Rank).
  • Generally the requirements for an Engineer build are something comparable to an 8 bit, pipelined CPU. Not just something which is turing complete.
  • Generally we look for something more involved with regards to your process with developing your build. Knowing about the Engineering process you went through in order to create your build is important.
