Why you should be pardoned: I am writing to you on behalf of my 9-year-old son, who is a huge fan of technical Minecraft. However, he barely understands English and likes to goof around. He told me that he was typing nonsense words in the ORE server chat and that, after a while, he was banned. He would really love to be allowed back in so he can see the Chungus 2 machine, as he hopes to learn how to build something similar himself someday.
I’ve got a few concerns regarding the appeal, so just be aware that this reply is from me, rather than staff as a whole.
From my perspective, this appeal doesn’t involve the offender, doesn’t apologize for the incident, and doesn’t provide a reason to believe it won’t repeat in the future. Generally, simply stating what transpired with a desire to rejoin isn’t enough for an appeal to be accepted.
These types of incidents are actively disrupting the experience of others who share that same passion for learning technical Minecraft and it’s unfair to them if we don’t apply some level of caution in cases like this. We want to feel reasonably confident there won’t be a repeat of the same incident before we consider an unban.
That aside, we are actively discussing the appeal and will provide a verdict within a day or so. If there’s anything you’d like to add, we’d encourage writing a reply here (rather than simply editing the initial post) so that we are notified.
My son sincerely apologizes. He has been begging me for days to help him figure out how to say sorry and get back onto the server. Because of his limited English, he asked me to write this appeal on his behalf. I have explained to him that he must not behave this way in any game or social platform, and that the punishment you gave him is completely fair. Nevertheless, I see that he is deeply interested in learning how to build things with redstone, which is much more educational than PvP battle games, so I kindly ask for your forgiveness. He has promised me that he will never bother the other users again.
