Description: Fan ragebaited me by changing my plot owner to shrillquill.
After a few times of me telling him not to do it, he threatened to take my plot away (Clear it)
even though it is just a joke, moderators shouldn’t be abusing the members like this.

I was able to find some messages from around when it happened and Fandit gave his perspective on it. I’ll update once we figure out what, if anything, will happen.
IDK if i’m allowed to reply here but Fan’s done this multiple times to multiple people as a “joke”. He’s also taken peoples ranks away as a “joke”, preventing them from building.
Yeah he randomly took away my builder rank and made me student and told me to do a trial to get it back. It was obviously a joke and i did end up playing along with the joke, but i was stuck unable to build on my plot for a solid 10 minutes

We are still discussing how we want to handle things and the replies are being taken into consideration. I will say that any provided evidence of the additional situations would be appreciated, though should probably be their own posts at that point.
In this particular situation, we’ve decided to allow others to reply with their thoughts (mainly by just letting it happen, not necessarily inviting more), but I want to be clear that generally it is not allowed and this shouldn’t be used as a precedent for other similar posts.
i don’t understand why he only gets a slap on the wrist for stuff like this. He’s done it numerous times in the past and it only makes 1) people like him less and 2) the experience of the server less enjoyable. people log onto ore to do redstone, not to have their perms taken away for a dumb joke that only he is in on
Just sending this to be clear we’re still actively discussing how to best resolve this and verifying the different replies, we’re not ignoring it and we do want to try reaching some resolution that addresses people’s concerns. With the addition of another separate but related report, I want to assure everyone we’re taking it all into consideration and trying to make sure this is dealt with properly.
Following internal discussion, Fandit felt it best if he stepped down. This wasn’t forced upon him, but it was recommended by some other staff given the recent reports. We don’t plan to seek any further punishment and hope that this is a resolution the community is comfortable with.
This post will remain unlocked for a little bit longer to allow for any relevant feedback and of course we will continue to accept feedback elsewhere after this is closed to replies.
