I love figuring out how circuits work and how to incrementally optimise their speed and physical footprint.
What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:
I have made a design for an 8 bit CCA ALU
What does the thing do?:
Given inputs A, B, the ALU can compute A, NOT A, A OR B, A NOR B, A AND B, A NAND B, A XOR B, A XNOR B, A + B, A - B.
Using a MUX, it can switch between each of the base operations, a, or, and, xor, +.
The is an inverter which can be used to invert the bitwise operations. Subtraction is done by inverting B and activating the carry in signal. There is a decoder at the bottom for choosing which logical operation is selected in the MUX and for choosing whether to select the output Q or the inverted output ~Q.
