Minecraft name:
PranshulK
What do you like the most about redstone?:
It gives me an avenue to play with digital logic without having to spend money on physical kits. It’s more tangible than most logisims and feels more fun to tinker with. The community has insane amounts of documentation and support on efficient ways to solve common problems.
What’s a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:
A minecraft implementation of Albert Paul Malvino’s SAP-1 computer architecture popularised by youtuber Ben Eater.
What does the thing do?:
It is “turing complete” and able to run most common programs with its very limited instruction set and even more limited 16 bytes of ram. Houses an ALU capable of 8-bit ADD and SUB instructions, setting Carry and Zero flags appropriately. Able to perform conditional and unconditional jumps. Shown in image is the computer running a fibonacci-sequence calculating program, with the output manually recorded using ‘//read’ command.
