Your favorite thing about redstone: It’s really close to real logic gate systems, but has some fun quirks with timing patterns and comparators and repeater locking and all these different features that can still create the same complexity.
A build you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge (This is your trial build): I built a full 8-bit RCA ALU, capable of all the standard operations.
Explain what your build does in detail: My ALU performs addition, subtraction, OR, NOR, AND, NAND, XOR, XNOR, IMPLIES, and NIMPLIES. It has a full encoder and decoder system so that the given operation can be selected with a 4-bit signal, ready for integration into a larger system. 8 bits is enough for medium-level mathematical operations, allowing for a decently complex computer with no extra concern for how size may affect timing.
