A build you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge (This is your trial build): ULA(Unit of Logic and Arithmetic)
Explain what your build does in detail: ULA has 3 main parts, ALU, Register file and Instruction memory. Because i saw you focus on ALU mainly, i will explain only it. ULA uses 8-bit CCA ALU that can Add, Substract(A-B), and do bitwise operations like AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR and XNOR. It works so it takes two inputs - A and B - and first control if should invert them iA=(A XOR !a), iB=(B XOR !b). Then it take it through XOR/OR depending on if XOR→OR is on X=(iA XOR iB)/X=(iA OR iB). After that it make GS(Generate Signal) and CS(Cancel Signal) by XNOR GS=(iA XNOR iB) and NOR CS=(iA NOR iB). Then it cancel the generate sigal Cout=(GS NIMPLY CS) and make SUM SUM=(X XOR (Cin OR FC))
