Hey, your image depicts an RCA-Adder not an ALU. An ALU should also be capable of certain bitwise operations. This means your trial build is not sufficiently advanced, because the bar for trial builds is at or above the level of a 4 Bit ALU. Please respond with a new build if/when you decide on one.

The carry bit serves to pass the overflow from one bit to the next more significant bit during addition (and also during subtraction using two’s complement).
