Member Conduct
As a member of our community, you will be expected to maintain proper server conduct. This primarily boils down to an expectation that members can maintain a mature and functional environment.
Our rules are fully detailed here but can be summarized as follows.
The following are not allowed on any part of ORE:
- Disrespecting others
- Being racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful or discriminatory
- Making chat ugly or hard to read (spamming, sending obtrusive messages, etc.)
- Inflammatory content (rage bait, controversial political content, etc.)
- NSFW (18+) content
- Content which staff cannot reasonably or safely moderate
- Wasting staff’s time
- Ruining other members’ experience on the server (griefing, spamming, creating lag, etc.)
- Scamming
- Advertising
- Running a bot (i.e. an automated user/player)
- Bulk collection of ORE user data (such as chat messages)

Let’s go through those fields one at a time.
Minecraft Username:
First, be sure that when posting your application, you include your Minecraft name in the title of the application. We see occasionally someone forgets and that means we can’t properly tie your Minecraft account to the application.

Hey, that’s the post you’re reading now! Good on you! We require everyone to read this post to make sure everyone is familiar with the format and our expectations. In the past, we’ve gotten many, many flawed applications, so we hope this helps improve things.
Your favorite thing about redstone:
Next, tell us what you like most about redstone. Don’t stress too much about this but we’d like to get your insight into what part of redstone you find the most interesting, fun, or otherwise enjoyable.

After that, we ask you to tell us about things you’ve worked on. This should be something you’ve made rather than something copied from another player. Feel free to use something you’ve made in the past.
Previously trials required Testificates to build during the trial. This is no longer the case. You are expected to prepare a build prior to the trial. Typically, the expectation is something at least as advanced as a 4-Bit RCA ALU. The trial build MUST be computational in nature. Feel free to ask anyone with Builder rank or higher, especially staff, if you need help with creating your build with WorldEdit.
Note: If you decide to build an ALU as your trial build, it CANNOT be a mux-based ALU. This means it cannot have individual circuits for each operation, but must modify a base adder instead.
Remember, links to pictures and/or videos MUST BE PROVIDED in the application or it cannot be accepted. Please provide screenshots of your work by attaching the image to the post, or by using Imgur to host the images. If you are convinced that we will not be able to determine the functionality of your device from screenshots, please feel free to post a video that you’ve made, hosted by YouTube.
What is the name of the warp for your build on ORE?:
Once you’ve completed the trial build, you can set a warp to it using /setwarp <name> where the name would be included in your application. If you incorrectly set a warp or need help working with them, feel free to ask staff for assistance.
Provide your results after completing the ORE Binary Quiz:
The ORE Binary Quiz is a brief quiz intended as a way to ensure you know some of the required trial information prior to the actual trial. When you complete the Binary Quiz, it will provide you with your results. Click the copy button and paste it in your application. Keep in mind that invalid or incorrectly copied results will not be accepted.

Trials
You get TWO trial attempts every 7 days, with at least 24 hours between them.
The purpose of the trial is to both confirm what you have submitted in your application and to determine the depth of your understanding. During your trial you will be asked questions about how your build works and will be expected to explain your reasoning in detail; therefore it is best that you have complete understanding of your build before you dive into a trial.
Trial Rules
During a trial, there are a few things we do NOT allow. These include:
- Any external tools such as a calculator, search engine, AI, or anything of that nature.
- Help from another individual
- Reference notes with trial information
Ignoring these rules may result in a demotion or ban, depending on the specific circumstances.

Below is an example of how a Builder Application should look. We discourage members from attempting to pass the example application off as their own, especially given there are parts which are unique.
